| Considerations for awning fitting
Look carefully at the whole area to be shaded by the awning. Look out for washing lines, trees or shrubs, sheds or building extensions.
The wall on which the awning is to be hung needs particular attention.
The wall must be of sound construction and the intended location at least 2.5-3m above ground.
Allow for any doors and windows to open without obstructing the awning, given that when open, the edge of the awning will be lower than when closed, by approx 30 degrees
The fixing position should be at least 25cm or 3 bricks above door or window opening, with 7 brick courses above it to anchor the weight.
Or use spreader plates or gutter brackets.
We don't currently sell a bracket, but try www.crocodilla.co.uk/products.html.
