What is a zinc planter?
Zinc plant containers have become very popular over the last 5 years.
They're light, easy to move, and great value for money.
Modern and stylish, they're available in a range of colours.
|
- Great Value for Money
They're not actually solid zinc, but rather mild steel that has been galvanised or electro-plated with zinc.
This is an inexpensive process, and allows large sizes to be produced at sensible prices.
Most are made in the Far East and shipped to the UK.
Because of their size, transport costs tend to be a considerable part of the overall cost of the planters (see below)
.
- Colours
The colouring is added during the galvanising process.
It is not painted on.
- The finish
The planters are hand finished, and can be brushed or smooth or traditional galvanised in appearance.
- Nested sets
To reduce transport costs, most are shipped and sold as 'nested sets'. Up to 5 different sizes of planters are stacked inside each other like a Russian Doll. All planters in a nested set will be the same shape and colour, but of differing sizes. This can be awkward, because it means you need to purchase sizes you don't want. Primrose London doesn't require you to purchase in nested sets - you can buy any quantity of any size you like.
